The best shoes for Vltava Run

Let’s start with proper shoes. Based on the course and profile of the individual legs, we’ve chosen only the best of Nike running equipment for you. The shoes are categorized by course profile, so you know exactly which ones to choose:

MIXED SURFACE

Nike Air Zoom Pegasus – some of the most popular shoes by Nike. The upper is made of a special mesh to ensure ventilation where it is needed the most (so you don’t get suffocated with your team in the car, right ?). And its Cushlon ST foam midsole and Zoom Air unit make sure you enjoy some smooth and springy running.
Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo – its Nike ZoomX midsole is exceptionally light and provides the highest level of energy return Nike has created so far. These will make short work of your parts of the race.

ROADS

Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% – so far the fastest available marathon shoes by Nike. Are you running leg No. 5 from Stožec to Nová Pec or the final one in Braník? These shoes will make sure you break your personal record and, mainly, put your team ahead! ?
Nike Zoom Fly 3 – is speed still the top priority for you and your team? Well, this shoe inspired by Vaporfly is both durable and comfortable – ideal for longer runs. The dynamic power of its carbon fibre layer will keep pushing you forward even during very long runs.

PATHS IN WOODS AND MIXED SURFACES

Nike Air Zoom Pegasus Trail – extremely comfortable trail shoes based on the popular Pegasus, only swapping roads for dusty paths. Featuring a perforated mesh upper to ensure optimal breathability as well as to wick away sweat. The upper is shaped around the eyelets and cooperates with the traditional lacing system to keep your feet secure. Just perfect for the first leg of the race!

THIRD LEG

Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit – fatigue creeping up on you and your run no longer as good as the first leg? These shoes are the answer. If you’ll be running on the road and want to stay comfortable and injury-free, go for Infinity Run!

REGENERATION AND JOGGING

Nike Joyride Run Flyknit – finished with your legs but still feel like jogging a bit? Or maybe you need something for the ideal regeneration on Sunday? Nike Joyride is the right choice then! Its midsole contains tiny foam balls closed in four strategically placed pockets under your foot. These balls compress and adjust to ensure your step is dynamic and stable. The foam balls provide cushioning and keep your feet comfortable even after long kilometres.
Nike Free RN 5.0 – would you like to “stretch the muscles on your feet” a bit during those short legs ahead of you? This shoe simulates barefoot running to get back to basics. It features a lightweight upper made of single-layer mesh which is more flexible and provides a comfortable sock-like feel. The entire outsole is covered with grooves that stretch and improve flexibly with each step.

So, have you chosen your shoes? I believe you have! And don’t forget you can drop by the Top4Running shop at Náplavní 1 (opposite the Dancing House) where we can help you choose the right shoes, for example, based on the legs you are going to run or the way your feet land.

Have a great spring full of running and see you at the start in Zadov!
Enjoy your running and training!
